  1. Hi Breaming with bro That is something you can hopefully help - call DPI (or NSW fishery hotline) as much as possible as soon as possible when you see this happen. Maybe give them a word too. They may not know.... (I'd doubt it though). Cheers Hamish
  2. Yes Old Scaley, I'd have to agree with that. Hopefully you guys crack the Moreton Bay red emperor code come Suburbs of Origin, so you can give tugger a run for his money! Weather is not looking good right now though, I think you guys got the last of the good weather. I'm a bit annoyed because everything will be flushed down my part of the river with rain but it's good to make everything green! Cheers Hamish
  3. Good luck in selling them jon, my family has just picked up a new Mazda car (a few days ago). Seems like good pricing! Cheers Hamish
  4. Hey Cobiaaddict As well as the fact that many fish shouldn't be taken from the ocean by rec fishos (unless baitfish i.e. herring) it is an atrocious break of the laws. They should loose all fishing gear, cop a massive fine, and have there car, boat, and licenses taken away. I hope this raises awareness for all closures, size, and bag limits. While ignorance is no excuse, I'd assume it is the reason a lot of people take illegal captures home (this is no ignorance though, just simply illegal activity). Cheers Hamish P.S. I reckon his boat would make an OK small artificial reef. Perhaps where he took all of the snaps so it gives them a good place to re spawn!
  5. Hey christophagus SOUTHSIDE SOUTHSIDE!!! Will beat all you Northside! Thanks for organising it though, I really appreciate it. I cannot fish this weekend due to tennis and basketball (Sat morning, Sat midday, Sat afternoon, Sun 9-3) Cheers Hamish I will do South good (hopefully)
  6. Hi ellicat That is a great session with some great fish almost landed. Looks like you'll need to come back next time with a locked drag and a seriously heavy outfit! While the esky wasn't full of kingy like it should've been, I would still be happy just seeing/fighting one. You will have to go out next time and smash them. Good job. Oh, and I hope the scum bag who fiddled with your trailer gets karma Cheers Hamish
  7. HOLY MOLY!!!!! Is that a red emperor?! That is awesome ellicat. I can't wait to see what is in stall for the report. I'd take it a good feed was caught and you were fishing on Curtain??? Cheers Hamish
  8. Hey ellicat Great you had a good one with some mates I can't wait until I'm retired and can fish on school days. Understandable about the report too. Bloody annoying about the trailer towbar Cheers Hamish
  9. Hey ellicat I'd assume you're out right now so I'm hoping you've got some real good ones. Good luck Cheers Hamish
  10. Yeah, sure is kmcrosby78. There's still quite a few from 06 too... Cheers Hamish
  11. Hey rayke1938 Good Hinze session. Those shrimp are a nice colour. Great bass Cheers Hamish
  12. Hey Pesciesky Yep, hope you get on to some bigguns. I'll love to hear how you go! Cheers Hamish
  13. Hey Drop Bear Yep, thanks fro that. It is always a good little read Cheers Hamish
  14. Hi ellicat This is our Maltese Terrior called Lily. She is 16 this year (human years) so is quite old - (Sorry not the best pics) Cheers Hamish
  15. G'day Pesciesky Welcome to the forum. I have never fished Mackay before and I'd assume your main target would be barra, jacks, flatties, etc.. Good luck on getting some feeds. There is plenty to research on this forum (search bar is top right) and on the net Cheers Hamish
  16. Yep, that is a much better idea ellicat. On my next round I will make sure to add them instead. Cheers Hamish
  17. Hey ellicat I think samsteele115 has kitted you up with information. Hopefully when it's season you can get a biggun. Good session with Leosonfire also. While it wasn't the amount, at least you got some nice tuskies! Do you target anything on live whiting, like jew, or just stick to macky fishing? Cheers Hamish
  18. Hi Drop Bear Thanks for that, I'm hoping it will soon produce! Hey Dinodadog His dad hand made them. I believe his company was called 'Powell Lures'. I don't think he works it anymore. I will check with my mate tomorrow. Cheers Hamish
  19. Hey all I was packing away gear this arvo, and thought I might make a home made wire trace or two. I'm going to basically do a how-to (or an attempt), so hopefully it helps! So, you'll need the following - Pliers - Crimps - Wire (choose your poundage) - Hook (choose your size) (No piccy) Swivel (choose your size) Lighter - Step Number 1 - You first need to simply cut your wire to the length you want. Roughly allow 5-10cm on each end so you can do the twisting. Step Number 2 - Next, twist the wire around the swivel, around 5-7 times. Step Number 3 - Place your crimp on, slide it down onto the twisted bit of wire, and clamp it down as tight as you can with pliers (don't use the cutting section or you might break the crimp) - Step Number 4 - Get your lighter and hold it under the crimp. This melts it around the wire. Try not to burn it on fire or burn yourself! Step Number 5 - Do the same thing for the hook. Then, you've got the final product!!! OK, that is that done. I hope this helps someone eventually. Cheers Hamish
  20. You weren't supposed to tell them all that! Now they know how out of shape we are!!! Cheers Hamish
  21. Thanks Angry51, hope it helps lots! Cheers Hamish
  22. Hi xander mate Some great information above from ellicat and Ed. That will set you in the right direction. I put heavier line on my reel than it says on the ratio. If the reel has only 7Kg of drag, you may want to only put 8 or 9 Kg line on it. Your reel won't break unless it is very over-worked, and somehow too much pressure is applied. Cheers Hamish
  23. Hey bulldogs195461 Yep, like said above, I think you'd be fine. Most fish wouldn't get you down to the point when your line starts to slip, or you go into backing... That is, of course, if you don't hook a whale! Cheers Hamish
  24. Hi samsteele115 Holy Moly! 70cm is massive! I wouldn't be able to beat one that size if I tried for yonks! Good job Cheers Hamish
  25. Yep, alright Leosonfire We'll eventually organise something... Maybe for whiting sometime? Also, here is the hardbody for anyone interested - Cheers Hamish
