attaching hooks to wire trace

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,

I have a quick question after reading some of the sharking pages here and elsewhere;

I'm planning on getting into sharking soon, and i'm aware of how to crimp the wire to a single hook and a swivel on the other end, but how do I make a 2 hook rig?

Ideally i'd be wanting a 2 hook rig with circle or livebait hooks in order to throw a nice livie out there, not sure if a little mullet or herring etc would appreciate 4 gang hooks in it :P

cheers

dan

get a meter and a half of wire andput swivel on one end and crimp it

slide a crimp on he other end about 25cms

then up through the eye of a bent back eyed hook and put the end of the wire back down through the crimp. then pull tail end tight reducing it to a small circle with a hook on it and a 15-20 cm tail

then crimp it up

crimp another hook to the end of the tail wire

this will hold most of your river sharks

if you want to go after the real big ones you need to buy stainless shackles and heatshrink
