Hinterland Bass

Went out trekking again and gave my new Daiwa Advantage 2000 a work out with a New wild bass PB. This fish came up fast and you could see the bow wave so I paused it and the bass hammered it taking out heaps of line and looking for structure to tangle me around in every corner o the small pool It lived in but was able to extract it. It went 48cm on the mat and got it on my favourite gold sammy.

When I got home I had eight ticks burried in my body

He will have to have a few feeds between now and then Brian. Well done mate I havnt got those sizes in wild bass for ages, what depth did they come from,or what is the deepest holes there.

About 4 foot deep out in the middle. This one came from a pool with a little waterfall and is about 20m long at the most and not too wide at all. The fish are coming out of the middle on submerged snags rather than on the bank and overhanging timber.
