Google Ocean

Just saw a thing on the news about Google Ocean, a mapping tool like Google Earth where the sea-bed can be viewed in pretty good detail. I thought it sounded pretty cool. Apparently you can look at the Barrier Reef at the moment. Would be pretty handy if they extended it into the Bay

Interesting. Would be interesting to see if it picks up like random little pinncles etc. Would be worth a very good perusal.

Trouble with that every little pinncle would get fished hard forcing even more closures

a friend bought some big dollar electronics, the gps has no contours, you can add if you like, but his sounder tells the gps how deep and gives a 3d visual of the bottom as he travells. it's like the hummingbird sounders only much , much better, and the imformation is stored into the gps. to see this thing working, it's amazing what can be done these days. for a price.

I just found one spot I've never seen on a GPS chart. Might be worth giving it a crack!
