Whats the best action to use when fishing SP

Don't know much about plastics in estuary fishing but for offshore all I do is cast updrift as far as possible put the rod in rod holder with bail arm open and wait for the line to start peeling off. Flip the bail arm closed and presto you are on. The key is to have correctly weighted jig heads.

The only fish I have caught inshore are flatties and I just used a medium weight jighead and a very slow steady retrieve so it bounced along the bottom. Didn't bother doing anything with the rod and still caught a couple.
