Has anyone ever painted a fiberglass boat before?, And i mean properly, not some shoddy job, also i hear once it gets a mark it just wants to peel off?? is this correct? I my self would not think this would be the outcome if painted properly,

Anyone know of any outrigger base brands that do a decent hard top version??

Ive looked at the reelax version and they look like utter crap to me, my mates got a pair and they work well but there not the hard top version,

cheers,

the main cover of fiberglass is gel coat .now it is any colour u want ,but its a little flat as its base colour.so u buff the **** out of it to make it shine or u paint it .

there are special marine paints and clears that hold up to the sun and salt water better.

they are talking about that as work all the time as a guy there has a ski boat he going to repaint .

most of the time it will only be the sides or the top they paint to make look pretty .

specials .glitter or really shiny etc.

or fancy decals .

if the boat is damaged .scratched etc it really should be re gel coated.

if it faded try some good cut and polish for gel coat.

don't know much about it really ,this it just info i hear and remember from conversations at work .
