Hi all, Juls here. I've been in Brisbane for a few years now, but only fished in the river yesterday. To my surprise, I pulled up a slimy, croaking catfish of a decent size which I thought was a plastic bag. I would like to have a go at pulling in things a bit more interesting, but I'm pretty new to fishing here so I have heaps to learn. Have found this site quite helpful and interesting!

Stacks of info here Juls. Plenty of those slimy catch fish, but also plenty of other good stuff as well. Not that catties cant be good cheap entertainment!

G'day Juls,

I have started fishing in the last 5-6 months, and browsing this site, as well as getting out with some of the members, has improved my fishing exponentially. Keep an eye on the "going fishing" noticeboard, and go out and meet some of the lads for a fish!

Thanks everyone! Yeah, I'm quite excited to give things a go. I wouldn't mind pulling out a monster cattie for fun...I just find them a bit gross..hahah. I will keep an eye out for the going fishing posts to tag along.
