how does a penn 330 overhead with 5'9 rod sound for $135. 15-25kg line rating.

The 330 combo is a good budget combo. I've had guys using them and landing marlin and 7 foot sharks with the reel, if using 24 kg , don't overtighten the drag otherwise you'll strip the level wind on it. Appart from that give it a good wash down every time and you'll have it for years.$135 is a good price, when I worked in tackle shops about 6/7 years ago they sold for $ 249 for the combo.

thanks for the feedback mate. i bought one from amart yesterday, i put braid on it. i'm going to moreton island for the new year and wanted a good heavy combo. it won't get much regular use so it sounds like it will be good for me
