well im looking into buy a new one, do they sell the spools seperatly? and is it simple enough to change them over or must the reel be taken apart?

there is an okuma on the market that comes stock with two spools i dont know of many others apart from that though in BC, the spools on most are quite easy to remove and replace just a push button and twist of the side plate in most instances hope this helps.

the okuma model is the Vs200. and to buy spair spools for most other mid to high end reels will see your money not go very far.

You can order another stock spool from either daiwa or shimano. With some reels you can also upgrade the spool to improve casting performance. Do a search on tackle tour to find out what spools are compatible with your reel.

Just order another spool when you buy your reel. If they wont get you one go to another shop.
