I got busted off early this morning by something big on the surface. I wonder if it was that beast. I wonder if they get those in open water or estuaries?

When i worked in South Africa we fish for them a few times.

They are a highly prized sports fish over there. I must admit though, i had no idea they got that big. The ones we would catch seemed to max out at about 1-1 1/2 feet.

Other good fish over there were massive catties and what they call \"Bream\" which were Tilapia (or a very similar variation of fish).

Best baits were live fish.

There were very wealthy type tourists at some of the reserves i worked thorugh as well that fished them with lures. But sorry i took no notice as to what type as this was before my conversion to lures.
