the river?

so on the news tonite i saw they are letting water out of wivenhoe dam, again. a olympic swimming pool a second what ever that means...they started today.

that mean the river is gunna be unfishable in the next few days? anyone have a idea?

I reckon the river is going to be unfishable for a very long time(months??) ... there was an article stating the river is at its highest toxic levels ever.. the middle region of the river is pretty disgusting and sad to see.

Would have been nice if bligh let us have free "wet weekends" rather than release all that water... Im sure alot of the flooded communities would of appreciated it to clean their houses etc, instead of giving a lousy $100 rebate off next water bill.

The fishing wont be the same in the river for a long time

my guess is that the levels of toxins and crap in the river are the same as all ways the river will be fine, the mouth of the river will be fairly normal during this.

The latest readings from the river water at Pinkenba show it is still far cleaner than the water in and around most Tasmanian salmon farm sea pens. So theoretically fish from the Brisbane River is cleaner than farmed Tassie salmon thats on sale in all our supermarkets.

if you worried about the fresh pushing out, fish the last 3hrs of the incoming and the first hr of the run out and you should be sweet. if not venture else where

i heard that to get to the 75% level it will take them around 9 days so i would be looking around two weeks for it to start to get better.

Yeah, funny how we are not in drought anymore but the excess water/paying for it, doesn't go away now.
