queensland Bass at figgo boat ramp

So my brother picked up his new rod n reel today so we decided to take it for a test run down at fig tree pocket boat ramp befor we hit the reef off mooloolaba on sunday.... after 2 large cattys and to thumpers taking our money she was the last thing we were expecting. We were flicking around sp's and hb's then my heavy rod with 40lb line with live prawns got smashed so rob changed up his rig to hook n sinker with a size 2 mustard long shank, running of 15lb leader n 10lb braid.

30 seconds later ... this

She went 37cm and was released safley.

during closed season, not that uncommon. I have seen a few landed at Jindalee and got one myself at ftp

Maybe if I cast far enough from the Sherwood side of the river I can hook up. Some kick arse new snags everywhere around there and down to the uni after the floods. Roll on summer - looks very jackky to me.
