Hitting Eprepah.

wow been a while since i posted something on here

So some mates and I were planning on hitting eprepah this weekend. Use the trusty Kmart lures as they tend to make a killing on the Cod that like to linger in there.

Was curious about what bait to try out though. Any idea's? anyone fish down there often?

I know there is a lot of mullet around so maybe some mullet to try and find a bigger fishy.

Lures are your best chance down there done very well over the years both boat and land based on lures. Rarely catch anything but pike eels on bait although there are some horse bream around the mangroves on high that will smash up a fresh or live prawn good luck.

cheers man. Ive never seen a bream pulled outta there and there my favourite fish in the world! I'm praying Saturday is turning point for me.

Cheers mate ill chuck some lures around and hopefully get me some lil Cod to play with.

if your in a boat or yak head down past the marina's and cast the snags from there until its to shallow to go any further weve pulled some nice jacks outa there in a foot or less water and had some unstopables my guess would be big cod, on high you can treck a fair way into the mangroves in some spots there with some surface lures if your in a yak

big jacks on live mullet in there!

more time you put in more chance you go of getting one, have fished some pretty hairy spots stood up to my waist in the mangroves int here at night!

What tides should i be looking for these jacks?

Dad And I are gonna chuck the yaks in and have paddle around up towards the marina. Hopefully pick up one of these elusive Bream i've heard all about.

I've often thought about heading up eppy but I always thought it was a green zone? Or is that only around the mouth???

Hey Grander,

Yeah the green zone starts up near the mouth if you paddle up it you'll see a sign eventually. But as you get deeper into the creek its fair game. Although I believe fish no longer exist as I have been lacking to catch one for agggeeeesss now.
