Wahoo, black marlin and spanish mackerel?

Lads,

Being reading a few old threads and seems there is a good possibility of catch big pelagics on the in shore reefs around brisbane and the gold coast. Pretty pumped about the whole thing, anyone willing to give some tips like the ideal months, conditions, fishing methods or locations would be appreciated.

Will probably have a spare spot on the boat every now and then and happy to take some out if they are keen.

Like Bri says 11,12,13th november we'll be at wavebreak island camping but hitting the inshore reefs after pelagics your welcome to join us and see a few rigs and tricks we use and follow us out

Not an expert on blacks and spaniards but wahoo you are best saving your efforts until march till may and troll big deep diving minnows through bait congregationsat around 5-8 knots. Most early season wahoo now through to december are rat fish less than 10kg. Having said that last season we had an awesom run of XOS fish on th eBarwon Banks in December including the 167cm job on my avatar.

As dhess said , best try around early Jan-Feb down palm beach reef for spaniards as the spotties come in and they might be hanging round the outside of that action.

For the bigger fish more often the gravel patch off burleigh on the gold coast which is wider and deeper than the palmy will produce marlin, dollies, spanish and wahoo as soon as the water warms up
