Heading to Straddie - any tips?

Im probably going to head out to north stradbroke this weekend.

Any ideas on what fish i will be expecting to catch there and what bait,lures i should use?

hey buddy.. flat rock is a green zone, maybe stay clear of that one.

Are you going on a boat or landbased?

sorry guys, when i was over on the island last time, i saw lots of boats around a rock just out from frenchmans beach. I thought it was called flat rock, but obviously not.

flat rock is way out on the horizon, the one just out from where the trawlers anchor is shag rock and boat rock is in the shadow of point lookout

Mate my roommate is working for the university of Queensland and studying for marine biology. He has the permit to catch squid in the green zone. He was just back from the research on the island last week, he told me that after last years flood, somehow the fish around the straddie dropped significantly, this time when he was catching squid out there, he only saw 2 small breams during the squid hunt....

Just let you know. But we are planning to go straddie late Dec anyway
