fishing gear was very poor with alot of cheap gear around and no real bargains to be had on good quality gear.

on another note, there are some aweeeesssooooommmmeeeeeeeee big hard top plateys around. serious boat porn :woohoo:

hey guys, just warning you make sure you know the price of the stuff you want to buy before you go. cause i seen with most of them they have the price at like 40% of retail price then say hey we will do a deal with you and just take it to the normal retail price. and they where even selling tld 25 for like 250. when you get it for 180 at motackle.

I actually saw some top deals on rods at some of the tackle stands, $50 for Dropshots, $90 (i think) for Shimano raiders, half price Loomis, but you had to search through all the chinese crap to find it! all teh reels seemed to be about the same as eBay, $220 for a stradic ci4.

I didnt even spend that much time looking at boats, all the sales guys seem to have an attitude about tyre kickers, but i reckon that's what the show is about, seeing what is out there so you know where to look when the time comes to upgrade. I spent more time in the 4x4 show and found some great products with sales guys who were keen to have a chat.

I have to agree that there is no real bargain on top end stuff, but definitely on the cheaper stuff.

didnt bump into anyone there today, despite me wearing a afo tshirt. Nevertheless, was interesting and ended up with the below

Hooked book was $30, got it for $25

Shimano brag mat was $49.00, got it for $25

South East fishing dvd x2 = $20

Silstar Enigma rods 2-4kg was $79.00 each, got it for $10 each. suprisingly very good rods.

Double jack 12v plug was $10, got it for $5.

Not real bargains but good excuse to spend some dollars.

Dont forget the boaties market is on tomorrow. Will bump the boaties market thread shortly.

I saw a lot of people getting around with the camo grip rods, but didnt see them in the stands, shame... for $10 they would be sweet as a spare or to take a few novice mates out

Dissapointed with the array of fishing gear at the show this year. Went there with a list of rods and reels that I wanted to get a feel for before making a deal, only to find none of these products were showcased at any stalls. A lot of cheap rubbish getting flogged.

Good selection of tinnies, a lot more decent fishing rigs this year than previous.

Hope nobody else wasted money on the lifesaver raffle. That one's got my name on it!!!
