well after the epic sessions with the boyne river barra, they have been dropping off in numbers to about 1 or 2 each outing, i went out there yesterday only to get catfish and so did everyone else i spoke too out on the water, so today i saw that low tide was around 4pm today so i figured ill give the calliope river a go, other times ive been out there at low tide something big always jumps on my lure and busts me off or bends my trebles, so with my gear up to scratch this time round, i headed for a tidal creek mouth and got a nice clean 74cm barra, had a few misses aswell and decided to head back to the ramp, i took a bit of a detour on my way back down a small anabranch and couldnt resist a troll, had a really good hit but missed, followed by a 47cm cod straight after. the barra had a tag so i took down the details and will post it on this topic when i get the info back and both fish were released.
