Friday Canal Breamin

Hey all,

Hit Pacific Fair canals at the Goldcoast again on friday. It was a much tougher bite compared to when we hit it 2 weeks ago, with the tides being out for most of the day. The bream were tight up against structure mainly on pontoons which were in the deeper water. Still plenty of bream in the shallows but no size to them at all. All fish came on gulp 2 inch shrimp plastics on 1/40th hidden weights.

It took awhile to crack the donut, but managed to find a hot little canals with a few legals... Managed 7-8 legals between 25-29fl, along with a heap of undersize and a few average flatties.. B) Loving the breaming atm, very addicted... B) All bream released as usual.

salmon in the canals? this is the greatest news i've heard in ages. could be time to chase them!

they are definitely there. I fish there probably twice a fortnight and have seen them regularly for the last 2 months. They come up to the surface near the rockwall. They're usually in schools of 3 or 4. Size? easily 50mark.

Only prob is that even a blink of your eye spooks them. but they come back a few seconds later out of curiosity. Pretty cool to see.

Been busted off 4 times straight in a row last fortnight using aussie banana prawns from woollies.

not a touch on lures.
