garmin echo 300c

hey guys recently picked up a garmin echo 300c for around the $150 mark so thought it was a bargain for that price.

anyone own or have used this model before and how did you find it.it will be working more in the eustuarys so water depth is alittle shallow.

I picked up a garmin echo 100 i think it was - just a small, cheap black and white unit which i've mounted on my trolling motor. They were on sale at dick smith for $24 bux i think haha!

I just use it to keep an eye on the water depth and contour not to sound out any fish but does the job ok. You should be fine with the 300c

i have 1 of these. they work great. i am still learning how to read it as it is my first sounder. if you search older posts look for post's from youngy. here is 1 so you can see what to expect.

Cheers for the info guys.i'm currently down at morayfield for my brothers wedding untill around lunch.where can i go around here to pickup a 12v battery and anything else i might need to setup the echo 300c.cheers

For the Yak? looking at a 7ah 12v?

Jaycar on Beerburum road north side of caboolture, otherwise Battery world on Morayfield Road, about 500m south of the river on eastern side of road, or Dick Smiths in the morayfield shopping centre.

Probably around the $40 mark.

do you guys know if these fishfinders have an external transducer suction mount that can be purchased on its own.

i did find a site with them but i didnt bookmark.cant seem to find them.does anyone know where i can purchase them.
