Rapala slam baits any good?

Just wondering if anyone has tried rapala slam baits

Have tried them and personally I hated them - and I bought them off someone else who hated them ($1 a pack was too hard to resist). They had no action, I couldn't get anything to take them (while my Gulps and McArthys got munched) and so I ended up selling them for what I got them for.

My favourites are Damiki plastics. Especially in the salt.

Zman are also great.

I like the slider grubs for freshwater.

Where do you you get damiki plastics from all we have round here is bcf and a small tackle shop and never seen they in either?

Bcf do stock damiki but i dont think they have the whole range. But your best bet is online. check out reeltackle.com.au pretty sure lance stocks the whole range.

It all depends on what sort of fishing your doing.

You cant go past Zmans i have caught great fish on them.

Mcarthy and bass assasins are good for offshore work.

I got to use a range of SHAD LURES on weekend. I gotta say im quite impresssed with them.

The tequila sunrise in flick tail is a killer for river snaps, jew and threadies.

Even their flick tail in casper is good. I cant wait untill the longies come in bay i reckon they will be gun for them. Really good action to them.

Check out the boys on facebook at SHAD LURES they got fair few lures in the range. They got heaps of photos of their success using them.

I have been catching a lot of good jewies on the berkley gulp and squidgie fish

But I want to start targeting othe species but don't have any idea what type or size plastics to use as I have only caught Jew and by catch of flathead

Agree with Shane, McArthys are great for offshore work, I like the Squidgy Pro range and the Berkley Powerbait range too. You can get the Berkleys pretty cheap from the US on eBay... it's worth checking out.

Yeah the slams are quite average. I've got a load of them when they were at $1 and they haven't seen the water much.
