Browsing the hundreds of videos on You Tube of people catching all sorts of fish is great to possibly learn from.

I find it disgusting and beyond cruel to see beautiful 20-70LB ++ fish dragged up a beach and briefly held to show off for an ego boosting photo moment then see it thrown to the ground to die :-)

Likewise to see someone catch a fish and throw it into a bucket to drown a horrible death or thrown around like a football. These fish are beautiful and do feel pain so I find it hard to understand why people would do this to a living creature as some way to make themselves feel more masculine?

I have always been been one to kill my catch as quickly as possible and found this site below very helpful.

I am not a tree hugger I just find it very disturbing to see anything living tortured. The worst is a chew on this video (yanks) fishing for a huge hammerhead shark. They pull a live eagle ray out of a tank and slice off one of its wings and throw the remaining fish back in the live well!

This is about as close to shark finning as you can get!

So how do you kill your catch?

I've started to use the brain spike in the last year or so, I have found it has improved the eating quality of just about every fish I target. Not that I keep huge amounts of fish anyway.

You're right, the less they suffer the better they taste.
