queensland Brissy river - Bass and yellas

Decided to head down to the brissy river for a fish this morning for the first time. Started off trolling and caught the odd bass (and snag ). Dad was first to get on the board with a huge bass :blush: :S

Then I hooked up to a snag so I stopped the kayak and managed to get it off and as I was reeling the lure back in really quickly, I got smashed by a nice bass :woohoo: I had drawn some black lines all over the lure to make it look a bit better as the bass in NPD seemed to hate it a lot the way it was

Weird looking body that this one had.

Then we started chucking around beetle spins as they went off the bite trolling. Got some of these.

Lucky I don't measure to the fork!

It was a great session and nice to get out somewhere different.

Yeah, I'm very lucky, he's a great Dad! Have to say that he definitely enjoys himself too! Thanks for all the advice on how to fish the river.

Your so experienced now James, I'm waiting to see the day you have doughnut like the rest of us mortals.

I guess the tail damage is from trying to re-enter the rivers with low water after the spawning run.

I don't post the days that I don't catch any fish Wayne I just enjoy being out there and the fish are a great bonus!
