Gold Coast 24s

It was decided that i would take the misses and a mate to the 36s Monday morning we arrived at the ramp at 0450 and made our way out towards the 36s, after punching out for 3mile and soaked my mate decided to change tactics and head for the 24s. we started the drift just south of the seaway and continued to drift south and moving south to various spots just floatlining and bottom bouncing on good shows was a steady drift of 1kn. at 0700 Amy hooked up something good on the floatline it was a good battle with plenty of runs and about 10 mins later a nice 65cm snap comes on board A PB for Amy, and then soon after i hooked a smaller 37cm on the floatline. I tried a another drift over the same area but no luck,i think it was lucky to get the two we did. We got a few more pickers for the day a few 30cm snap, flathead, rock cod and some pesty grinners taking the floatline all went back. There was plenty of bait around which might be a good sign of things to come. We had a great day with plenty of whale activity and a friendly dolphin which liked the taste of a couple a pillies.

Cheers Pete
