Angus, there's nothing too it, just travel at 30knots to the diving birds whilst controlling 70ft of flyline and shoot with two back casts as soon as the boat stops. Easy as dude :)

For Gen Y

OK guys

Here is the registration form for the comp. You'll notice a bunch of great prizes and in addition you get a complimentary t-shirt with every entry,, wooohooo!!!!!

Just remember, if you are even thinking about getting into fly fishing we are here to help out in whatever way we can. Feel free to come to our next club meeting (Feb 19) where we will talk Tuna tactics in more detail and match boaters and non-boaters together.

Cheers and again hope to see a few new faces at the comp. Any questions call me on 0423202818

Hey all

In the lead up to the Brisbane tuna on Fly comp, we will be focussing on Tuna at this weeks meeting, Wednesday 6:30pm

Flies for Tuna. Bring a vise, pink polarfibre and 1/0 SL12s :)

Tactics for chasing Tuna.

Gear setup as well, leaders, knots etc..

More importantly, we will be trying to fit boats to those who don't have a boat but would like to be in the comp. So if you are without a boat PLEASE come along and we'll sort something out.

Cheers

Norm

Hey guys.

Just a reminder to get your entry forms in soon. If you pay buy the 7th March you are guaranteed a t-shirt in your size. After that we can't guarantee either availability or size.

I've been out the past few weekends and the Tuna are getting BIG. Had one on for 25mins until the grey suit man came to the party.

Had an awesome weekend with 25 anglers turning up to do battle. Heaps of Mac Tuna caught but only one Longtail. Had to fight off the Pirtek idiots that think it smart to drive through a tuna bust up trolling lures and wonder why they get a spray from us quietly dogging the school.

Apart from that a great weekend, awesome food at the Bongaree Bowls Club and everyone took home a fantastic prize. We had three flyrods, two pairs of Tonics, a couple of eskies and heaps heaps more.

Next year

P.S. Can't seem to attach photobucket images. Piccy's up on facebook/brisbaneffc

I saw a bunch of the fly guys out there, longies sure were hard to find, we followed a small school and landed 10+ casts on them for no hookups.

The mack tuna only bit in the morning on our slugs and then would touch anything else when we found them later on.

The guys trolling the bay seem to be getting thicker, i hadnt seen many until recently.
