Snapper and Spanish

Recommended Posts

Went out the other day with Lindsay and drifted the reefs off Moreton island the weather was perfect but the fishing was slow after only getting a few snapper in the box we heading for my old stomping ground to try for a Spanish or 2 . Had a live yakka on the surface and a livie on the bottom for a kingie it was the bottom livie that went off and I fought him for a while till we got colour .

I wasn;t using wire on the bottom bait and was amazed I got the Spanish mackerel in to the boat but the circle hook had pinned him in the corner of the mouth. Great day out all up with us getting a few more snapper at the 2nd spot before we headed home through glassed out conditions.

Here is the final tally
