I'm not sure if anyone has fished here of late but put in a few good hours today. Some hard terrain after the last causeway to find an area not choked with weed. I'd heard rumours of bass in this section and imagine my surprise when I saw and heard a few snaps on arrival!

Overcast conditions appeared to be helpful but still hard going. Caught a couple of reasonable spanglies but at least I kept tackle out of the timber today. Bad parts were continuing issues with my threadline reel and I broke the top runner on my favourite 7' rod  

Keen to explore the area around Colinton when I next get an opportunity.
