Hi guys ,

just wondering if anyone goes fishing in this area?

the other day I was down at the entrance to Newport waterways and I saw a guy hook onto something fairly decent. His drag was screaming. Unfortunately if busted off his line.

The flooding day me an my son went just down the road to Scarborough and fished at the entrance to the boat harbour. My boy hooked onto something fairly big too but the line snapped.

i once lost a rod at that exact same spot... I cast out my rod and placed it down and I forgot to set my drag, I then proceeded to set up my other rod and looked over ito my rod n noticed I'd just been hit and next thing the rod flew down and into the water like a torpeedo lol.

I've picked up good bream, Moses perch and a woobygong from there before and I know ppl pullout the odd good fatty too.

Just interested to see what ppl pull from there (

I hear reports of some good catches at the entrance of the Newport canals.  Mackeral have been caught there
