queensland Escaped Pain + 55cm Bass

Had a mixed morning out at NPD this morning. Cold when I arrived,Sun came out for a little while, survived a sudden wind blast, then got wet. Also survived 2 catfish barb nicks, only had pain for a few minutes each time.I was using lip grips to small, big grips will be back in the boat asap.

Anyway first fish for the day was a nice 55cm bass with a tag in it. Picked up several bass trolling, mostly small ones and got heaps of bass and forkies bait fishing, plus a few on blades, also lost a bigger bass on blade when leader snapped just as I went for the net. It didnt help that I was giving it a bit of stick because I thought it was another mongrel forkie.

Rough water pic shows just how rough it can get in the fresh, its the worst spot I have been in for years, I was realy scared (big sook )

Looks like some pretty nasty conditions there considering photos never do it justice! Shame about losing the 60cm

55CM Bass was caught by me in 2009 it was only 39cm then. Its avoided capture for 8 years.
