Down at the sons place for 2 days. Bass were on fire, at each hole I picked up a couple of bass. Most of the bass were tough fighters and they were hard to get to the bank without snagging, in the fast moving water. Yesterday morning I was having trouble finding a single bass, as it is with creek fishing, they shut down quickly if being targeted in the same spot. Anyway I  talked the son into mowing along the creek bank so it was easier for me to walk and to cast.I made a cast in under a bush on the other side of the creek and something big grabbed my lure, I thought carp or cod and hoped for a cod. I had to slide down an 8 ft bank of long grass, while playing this monster, then when I got to the bottom I had trouble trying to get to my feet. There it was in front of me a new PB for this area a 66cm mary river cod. A quick pic, hooks removed and quick release, off it went, it blew me some bubbles and I think I heard thanks mate.

Creek fishing amazes me as you dont know what you are going to catch next and the serenity of it is so relaxing, even though you have to wade through high grass and vegetation and put up with barb wire fences.

Great to see the Mary and plenty of bass from the LFMA ,people tend to forget that stocking groups also stock rivers and streams.

Cheers

Ray
