Heading up to Moogerah Dam next weekend if you would like to join us for the day over the weekend or come for the whole weekend it will be good to catch up with everyone again I will bring a gazebo for the day camp and a bit of firewood for the evenings. We will do a cook up on the Saturday night with rotisseries and camp ovens over the hot coals if you want to be part of the dinner just bring something each to go towards the meal. On the fishing front you can get good bass and yellowbelly on the dam I have a few favourite spots that go alright and can show you in the right direction if your keen.

These socials are a good way to brake the ice if you have not attended an event with the forum before it is quite casual and you can chat with the fishing gurus that come along most people are willing to pass on their knowledge. If your coming don't forget a folding chair for around the camp fire at night and I will have a few ski toys as well for the middle of the day.

Have a good one. Busy weekend for me. Hope they are hungry.

I hope to get a few fish just ordered the shrimp from the farm at Aratula a lot cheaper than what they sell at the dam, should be a good weekend for it I am even going to get on the water ski I know I won't last long but I still can bust a few moves. lol

That is the goal mate that is the goal.

This weekend (I should just say this year) is very tied of with uni, family, large house renovation so total escape has been hard and not really fiar on T eiither. Hence my little adventures when I can get them.

Glad to see these shin digs going from strength to strength however and will be ready to roll when the time comes.

Well what a weekend at Moogerah the weather turned it on for us the stars were out at night and you could see the milky way perfectly, it is good to get away from the city a bit just to enjoy little things like that. The fish were on and like I said earlier in a post I got 30 odd yellas and 60 odd bass over 2 mornings and 2 arvo sessions that were only an hour each session for the rest of the time was skiing or just chilling back at camp.

We had our cook up on Saturday night and it worked out well with 4 chooks a lamb and beef roast cooked in the camp ovens, we had plenty of campers to feed as our group numbered 22.

After dinner the cooking didn't stop there as I did my world famous butterscotch pudding in the camp ovens and Colin whipped up his pavlova specialty

The camp sites are great at Moogerah dam with a gentle slopping bank with plenty of flat sites to pick from right on the water I leave my boat in overnight so we can get an early start on the fishing when the birds start singing

For the kids we roasted some marsh mellows while the camp ovens were doing there thing for dinner

Both evenings we sat around the camp fire and had a few coldies with the fire making some cool colours with a bit of help from Mick Dundee

I will have to plan another camping social soon I just love getting away and chilling it is the best form of relaxation no need to pay for yoga and meditation this truly is good for the soul.
