match a reel for my t curve please

hey guys a got my t curve yeasterday and im now ready to purchase a reel to match it.

rod specs are- 1 piece.7ft.2-5kg.(cant remember casting weight)

i was thinking of putting a daiwa tierra 2000 on it.

rod will mainly be used for flatty/squire. (occasional macks/tuna) etc....

i no if it was dedicated for tuna and macs i should go faster gear ratio but its only as a spare for that as i already have an outfit for them..

budget is $220..

do u think i have the right reel for the rod or can u suggest somethign better?

Did I meet you at BCF? :S . You're on the money with the Tierra. It'd be the best reel for around $200. Go for it.

Finally! Kevin u mentioned a spinning reel. I would go for a tierra or Sol but their is little or no difference between the 2 except for ball bearings and i think the Tierra is actually lighter.

daiwa silver creek presso would be my personal choice but they r hard to find. and a bit more expensive

sol's kep getting mentioned everywear i go..i dont think a sol for $200 from the states is that great of a deal.i have seen them for about $230 here once last week...but i have also herd that the tierra is almost the same reel apart form minor things..mainly cosmetic???

Yes they are the same except for ball bearings and they weigh less.

i just went to the daiwa website, www.daiwafishing.com.au and it says the 2000 sol is lighter than the 2000 tierra.

TD Tierra 2000 weight: 245g

TD SOL 2000 weight: 230g

If it was me I would get the tierra.

I have the Daiwa 2007 buyers guide here at home and as fisher said they are the same except the tierra has 7 bearings and the sol has 6. the sol weighs 17g less.

For an American eBay store try this one, you will have to add $30us for postage. I noticed the prices have just gone up by $20us a reel since I bought mine off him.

I saved $80aus off my Daiwa by buying through this shop but shop around.

He has Tierra for $97us that works out to about $140aus delivered.
