the battle of 17^th v 16^th… 16^th got there…
 

FRIDAY JULY 21

Warriors 21  vs  20 Raiders
Well fancy that… leading at half time the Warriors looked certs to continue, then a late 2^nd half rally by the Raiders, put some interest back in the game… at 20 – 20 golden point, Shaun Johnson sent the Raiders back to Canberra broken hearted  

Rabbitohs 20  vs  36 Broncos
the bunnies had a number of players back in their team for this match, and so did the Broncos… even with the Broncos dealing with 2 lots of 10 minutes sin binning, the Bunnies were not able to make hay, even with the flood lights shining brightly

SATURDAY JULY 22

Titans 18  vs  36 Roosters
the confident fans strode into Cbus Stadium… and wandered out of Cbus with an ever familiar feeling…

 

Knights 26  vs  18 Storm

Yeah, well! the Knights really are not that good,  so my conclusion is… the Storm must have been just bad enough for the lose…

Cowboys 24  vs  16 Eels
that’s 6 in a row for the Cowboys

SUNDAY JULY 23

Panthers 44  vs  18 Bulldogs

The only thing to take out of this game…. the Doggies put 18 points on the reigning premiers

Sharks 26  vs  30 Sea Eagles

The out of sync Sharkies left it far too late to get some sync…. in saying that they found a Manly side in form on the day… IMO, their dropping down the ladder coming up against in form opposition, is only starting to show their true order in the competition…

Now, that the NRLW season is underway, the Tigger fans have something to cheer about…

Storm 46  vs  16 Eels
This game was a Storm shut out, of the Eels…..Personally I found this dominate shut out a little surprising. The Storm were down had 2 dominate forwards, and both their ‘go with’ centres out of this team…. why were the Parra halves, dummy hooker, and fullback not targeting those positons through out the game.
 

SATURDAY JULY 29

Raiders 16  vs  28 Knights
The second surprise, out of this game for me, is the Knights could actually end up as Finals first round cannon fodder….
 

Dragons 18  vs  24 Sea Eagles

Having lost 10  games straight at WIN Stadium, since 2003, this Manly team has something to celebrate… once again the Dragons were left with regret….  
 

Panthers 28  vs  0 Sharks
being unable to beat any top 8 side, the Sharkies should be happy the black cats just wanted the win… and not a slaughter.
 

SUNDAY JULY 30

Bulldogs 23  vs  22 Dolphins

Like many games, this season there were some dubious official calls… but goodo for the Doggies and with a minute of play to go it was saddo for Isaako missing the possible winning conversion kick.

Titans 22  vs  13 Cowboy

In an up and down match, the previously six straight winning Cowboys, went down to the Titans… as Effie Stephanidis would say “how embarrassment” LOL

No wonder people are losing interest in the NRL.

Possession Manly 53% - 47%...  Completion rate Manly 88% - 71%...  Kicking metres Manly 622 – 346…  Errors Roosters 11 – 9…  Penalties conceded Roosters 15 – 6… and yet, the Roosters never looked like losing. LOL

The Titans were spirited for the 62 minutes with only 12 on the field,  after having a player sent off  just shy of 20 minutes into the game…. and the 2023 Warriors keep on warrior-ing  on
 

Panthers 26  vs  6 Storm
the positive for the Storm is they kept the Panthers under 30…

SATURDAY AUGUST 5

Cowboys 14  vs  30 Broncos
2023… 2 meetings… 2 Broncos wins.

Dolphins 28  vs  30 Knights
this game was another close Dolphin loss, with a 2^nd preseason, and some handy 2024 recruits coming, 2024 is looking good for the Dolphins.
 

Rabbitohs 16  vs  26 Sharks
WTF… both teams should have been compelled at fulltime, to have had swabs, and provide blood and urine samples

Eels 26  vs 20 Dragons
Bolt aways, errors, and some periods of big defensive efforts, kept some interest in this game

Raiders 22  vs  18 Wests Tigers
Both teams played good footy at times, and both teams played crappy footy at times…

Sea Eagles 12  vs  24 Panthers

Manly went in with a game plan along with the mind set to play to it and stick to it and had them 12 – 12 at half time. 
In the 2^nd 40 minutes the Panthers slightly adjusted their play, and smothered the Manly plan.

FRIDAY AUGUST 11

Sharks 36  vs  6 Titans
IMO on the night, the Sharkies looked good against a stuttering Titans outfit

Broncos 54  vs  10 Eels

The Bronco’s hardening offense and defence was on full display during this game, but in saying this… one has to remember the Eels were without a couple of  their key players, again.  

SATURDAY AUGUST 12

Rabbitohs 26  vs  14 Dragons
Jet lag did not affect the Bunnies in the tropical hamlet of Cairns, having played games in Perth and the Sunshine Coast before this match.
 

Wests Tigers 22  vs  30 Warriors
The Warriors ran out to a 12 point lead in the first 15 minutes, but the Tigers hit back to go into half time, 16 – 12.
The Warriors defensive effort was on and off throughout the whole game, but take nothing away from the Tigers they fought all the way to their brutal death.

Roosters 30  vs  14 Dolphins
The Dolphins opened up an early 8 – 0 lead, and lead 8 – 6 at half time The Roosters took off in the 2^nd half, with the help of the Dolphin’s, Ray Stone copping 10 in the bin, both Lemuelu and Kenny Bromwich failing HIA’s and Jeremy Marshall-King’s failing to see out the match because of his recurring shoulder injury.

SUNDAY AUGUST 13

Storm 48  vs  2 Raiders
The Raiders came out on fire, and started the scoring at the 5 minute mark with 2 points from a penalty kick… then the Storm ran in 9 tries.

Knights 42  vs 6 Bulldogs

The Dragons put in an ‘A’ grade performance, but the Storm came from behind to rain down on one of the Dragon’s best games of the season.

The Knights slew the Bunnies, and the Bunnies are watching the Roosters gain ground on them.

The Dragons flew to NZ, and the Warriors battered them back…

Dolphins 10  vs  34 Cowboys
Yeah well, the Dolphins had chances that they could not convert into extra points, along with rusty, off sync players coming back from injury periods… in saying that the Cowboys manured all over them in defence and attack.

Storm 37  vs  16 Titans
there was nothing new about this game, to see or write home about… oops, paps is back.

Roosters 32  vs  8 Wests Tigers
only 1 more game… just the one more game… then all of Tiggertown can be excited for season 2024.

Yeah well, maybe Sticky should be going off at his player for becoming a serial tripper, and not about the iffy interference penalty, that way he may be able to keep 13 on the field..

for those in Tiggerland, this game was the ending of a very long season.
With no new NRL team joining the comp in 2024 the positive is, 2024  won’t be any  worse.

Dolphins 34  vs  10 Warriors
The Warriors were resting/without a few key regulars, but the Dolphins were on a mission to finish their inaugural year on a high… with extra fire power coming into the club next season, along with some buying they will do through next year, 2025 may be the start of the Dolphins competing on a high level with the heavy weights of the completion.

Panthers 44  vs  12 Cowboys
The Panthers take out the 2023 minor premiership… love them or deeply dislike them, one cannot deny them.

Dragons 12  vs  32 Knights

The Dragons already looked shell shocked before the kick off…
