Thinking I might take the kayak out tomorrow while the wife and kids are out and I have the day off. What's in season that isn't a bream flatty or whiting? Im happy to catch them, It might to nice to actually target something for a change!

Maybe try the Redcliffe reefs for some squire ??

Urrrrr Im pretty sure it’ll be a bit rough and windy  in open waters tomorrow , try in a sheltered creek,or southern bay islands  for a Thready or Jew .Or in a dam for some bass is my tip.

The Ripples at Bribie would be worth a shot in the kayak.....just outside the mouth of the canals near Bansia Beach. Been a lot of squire there recently.

Not as bad for the winds as Redcliffe and same sized fish.

Yeah, my bad. I've been up since 3.30 this morning and didn't even look at the weather before suggesting. Don't go to the Redcliffe reefs.

Arrr Ellicat , I thought you were just leading a northsider up the garden path.

I think it’ll be good in sheltered waters till about 10am ,then it’ll get windy pretty quick.

Fish usually bite well leading up to a  strong southerly , if I get motivated I might give it another crack early tomorrow as well.

The boats packed,  I’ve just got to get motivated tomorrow morning.

Thanks for the tip. Once the kids leave for school I might head out Redcliffe way. I usually play in the pine, just shy of Hayes Inlet, so heading further afield might do me some good. I'll play the weather by ear, if its too rough, its too rough. and i might head back to around the pine bridge and try that

Plenty of fish smashing prawns up near the slabs in the pine on Anzac day....brassy trevally, jew and tailor....been a few decent jacks there recently too.

By slabs you mean the bridge? Whats by that red marker? Ive always heard its an old wreck, and always see a heaps of boats nearby.

Two bends up past Castle Hill is the slabs.....between the concrete slabs and the rocks before them is a large reef crossing the river......you can't miss it.
