OK i am going to try some sp on this trip.

I have a pack of 5inch nuk chickens and 3/8 5.0 hook things

Will be on 20lb braid.

Need some pointers from you blokes as to how I should set it up...

Lets see if I can actually catch anything on lures lolol

Use about 1.5-2m of 10-15lb leader (Flurocarbon if you have it) and cast up current a bit and if the current is slow enough and it gets to the bottom, just jig it until it gets too far away and then repeat. I get a few that way on shallower reefs, I havn't tried on harry's yet but I really want to give it a go there.

Sounds good - so a 10 to 15lb leader on a 20lb braid? I have 12lb flurocarbon will that do?

12lbs is ok. IUf you are fishing pre dawn you will need a dark plastic. Try Camo, I have landed some good snaps on the Green Is side of Harrys. 3/8 is a start, I would get some jigs either side of 3/8 depending on current. You want your plastic to float down, not sink like a besser block

Thanks Captain. I have 1/2s there as well. Dont have any Camo though. Will be pre dawn launching at 0100 tomorrow - tide turns about the 0330 mark so a few hour in both sides will hopefully produce some interesting numbers. Yet to catch anything worthwhile out there though so fingers crossed. Thanks for the tip mate.

lightly weighted squid worked well when I soaked bait. Still a bit of moon is good too.
