Lime Pocket

Went up to Limepocket today with crabpots trying to get some fish and a nice feed of crabs, Hit the road just after 6 and were in the water by 7. Drove up to get to our "spot x:P " and put the pots in the water. Then went and fished for an hour or so. Then we were able to access the sandbanks to pump some yabbies, Got about 25 good yabbies then went out to a new spot to try and get some whiting. Fished for 45mins then went to check the pots to find we couldnt access them for the low tide!!:S

So we went back and pumped 15 or so more yabbies and settled in for a few more hours fishing. Changed spots a heap of times we were catching plenty of undersize stuff but nothing legal, mainly just 20-21cm bream and whiting and a couple of moses perch. Then hooked up to a fish that we think is a striped butter fish, it went just under 40cm, Looked like a johnny dory but looked too big so we threw it back but searched grants when we got home.

We then started trolling 2 lures and trolled for about 30mins and eventually got a nice 40cm flathead. Seen as we didnt have anything else for dinner we chucked him back. Tried to get to the pots and neeeearrllly got through but got stuck about 20metres from them (Not keen on walking through knee deep mud for 20metres). Went back to our first spot for 25mins and kept getting plagued by undersize bream.

Finally able to check the pots, first one has an undersize male, second 2 tiny females, third has 1 just undersize male, fourth nothing.

All in all it was the best day but still better then catching nothing, we got around 20 undersize bream and whiting, Striped Butter Fish, Flathead, and a couple of undersize ,moses perch.

Came home by 3pm. No photos as all were released and my phone takes shit pics so i dont bother in the boat.
