Waterproof 'not so waterproof' lights

Thought I might do my 'annual' light test this morning when I dragged my boat out for a fish with Kriso and low and behold I have 1 blinker and one brake light (on opposite sides). Mmmmmm not a good look, but I backed myself in talking my way out of any Police intervention, so off I went.

Well it got the better of me later in the day and I pulled apart the lights to be greeted with a rusted, corroded mash. So off to buy new lights as I dont think they have ever made enough wet and dry to clean those terminals.

Question is - What is the best thing to put over the terminals once the new lights are installed? I have bought 'waterproof' lights again and the brand I have bought I have had reasonable success with. But just thought lanolin grease or something might inhibit any corrosion happening too quick.

Thought?
