My new dam boat.

Picked up an old clark abalone on ebay for $600 a couple of weeks ago.

It had no trailer and is pretty battered but structurally sound.

Picked up an old r redco galvanised tilt trailer on another forum for $100 in pretty sad condition. Springs rusted solid , winch cactus, and rear end badly rusted, a couple of galv rims with good tyres.

Thought I could do a cut and shut and put a new rear end on it.

Here it is on the old trailer

Rusty back end.

The next day I was up at recycleland and I spotter a complete galvanised tilt trailer chassis minus springs and axle and minus draw bar for $30.

The rollers were the wrong type but I had some good blue poly ones in the shed.

Here is the remodeled trailer with a spare set of springs that I had, a grafted draw bar, and a spare winch that I had in the shed.

The boat on the trailer. I have to adjust the rollers a little and will have to give it a bit of a paint. The green is really gross and my new AFO stickers will not show up very well against the green.

I got 2 8X4 sheets of 15mm ply at recycleland this morning for $10 so the next job is to fit floorboards and sounder etc.

Here it is sitting next to my other new boat.

It all looks pretty scummy compared to what Terry is doing with his refit.

Cheers
