Day 1

We got to the Marina at 6:00am got our key tags had a talk to a few people then before you knew it was time. So we got in the boat and left 12th good starting position and after a 1 hour and 10 minutes we arrived at our spot right up the Nerang River. Got to Jays favorite bridge I got a fish straight up going 28cm on switchblade. No more fish off the bridge so we moved along to the canals and we saw some monster bream on the flats around the pontoons but they wouldn’t eat. Next Jay got a 30cm bream off some rocks on a 1/16 jighead and a 2†gulp molting shrimp. After about an hour we didn’t catch anything so we fished those flats for those bream again Jay got a 28cm and a 29cm bream on the shrimp again. Then nothing so we moved to the bridges around the casino then Jay finally got our 5th fish going just over 30cm on a shrimp. Then after a while we decided to move out o the seaway to see if we could get a big fish. We arrived Jay had a shrimp and I had my favorite switchblade on a golden boy. So I dropped down nothing after about ten minutes of hard work I hooked that big bream it took off and we were watching the big silver flashes down deep. Then it was gone that big bream was gone. We couldn’t get anymore fish there so we moved along to the flats. We fished surface and got heaps of small hit from monster bream but no hook ups. So we then went and weighed in we got a bag of 2.2kg and were coming 10th for

Day 2

We got to the marina at about the same time left a bit early as everyone was there. Se we left and decided to have a quick go at TSS reef in the Nerang we got a 26cm rat so after about 15miniutes we moved up were we were the day before. I put on a switchblade in my favorite color again threw in lift lift bang he took off then after a long fight he came in a 36.5cm bream. We fished the bridge a bit more for nothing so we moved along to another bridge where I got a 27cm bream then another 26cm bream. We got nothing for a while we watched the bream while not catching any so Jay changed to a 1/40th jighead and a 2†gulp worm. He got 1 then 2 then 3 so I said I’ve go to get put on one so I did and while I was tying up Jay hooked a good fish it ran a while we finally got it in the boat to measure 33cm. We fished like that for the rest of the day sight fishing for them. It was almost as fun as surface fishing our bag ended up being 27, 27, 30, 33, 36.5cm which was a good result. Now for the long trip back we left ourselves 1 hour and 20 minutes to get back thinking the northerly wouldn’t be to bad. We got outside and it was blowing and we had 33minutes to get from the Nerang to Marina Queys. Jay said hold on we had a very very bumpy trip back were I was out of my seat a few times and I think the boat came out once. We were nearly at the 6 knot zone when beep quick you drive Jay said I need to put oil in the motor. So after that we had about 25ish minutes to get through the 6 knot zone and our key tad was just on when the hooter went on. So we weighed in for a bag of 2.44kg we then went and pulled the boat out and came back for the presentation. Lucky draw was first after a few prizes I hear Declan Williams so I go up to collect my prize of a bed and breakfast for 2 at Marina Queys so there is accommodation for a comp. It got to 5th place Team TT lures we won a $220 check a mangrove jack eyewear soft esky thing full of other small prizes including 2 packets of TT jigheads.:woohoo:
