My Son - who is on a navy patrol boat at Weipa - has sent me a report of them catching a Marlin on a hand line that was tied off to a rapid fire gun post, trolling while searching for illegal fishing boats.

I am trying to get him to take photos but he catches some many fish he could be bothered.

If it was tied off how'd they stop the line breaking? Unless they had some spare 7x7 8mm wire!
