  1. Soooo. AFO road trip? Cracking fish. More like a dinosaur. Thanks for posting mate.
  2. Thanks so much @christophagus A lot of fun mate. Go southsiders!!! I look forward to the next one.
  3. Neil you are so generous with your information. Thanks so much legend.
  4. Hey mate, I understand the desire to get out there but I would send some caution. It is a very long way to Tangalooma across very open waters, with strong currents and you need to cross a shipping channel. I wouldn't encourage you to do this unless you are extremely well set up, experienced and have a good support crew. However, there are some good fishing options on a yak a lot closer to home. There are some great reefs just of Scarborough and whiting options etc.
  5. Cracking trip mate well done! Some delicious meals for you over the next few days. I wonder what the big one was... Those little reds are so pretty. Shame they need to be so large to take but I am sure it is for the best. It's really great seeing you get a good esky full mate.
  6. They are always there mate. No harm taking another rod. In the trips that I have been on i find that the boats are more focused on deeper waters for bait fishing reefies. This makes popping not really worth trying.
  7. I have had a donut up there... but it was a spectacular trip all the same. Such a beautiful place. Great fishing as always Dino. Sorry about your rod.
  8. I agree with your list. Starting to get crazy busy over here at Straddie too... Now that I am a local I can say stuff like that haha.
  9. Hey April, Welcome to the forum. I love that part of the world. One of my kids has moved out there and lives in Haigsleigh but they don't fish. I am sure if you hang around in here, post some things you catch you will meet plenty of like minded people.
  10. Tents are overrated.... I did borrow a tent from my brother in law once... he didn't have a fly. 2 kids and mr drop bear and it was pouring rain. I had brought a tarp and made do with the pvc fishing rod tube, some large branches for poles, some ropes and plenty of swearing. It worked. We stayed dry for the week.
  11. I wish I was that organised.... I don't think i will ever grow up.
  12. Mate I think the bass have finally woken up to your antics. A friend of a friend of mine said the bass had a meeting and weren't gonna eat anything under the big tinny with 2 props and 2 sounders... I think the only way to fix this is to start taking bananas out on the boat?
  13. I haven't been watching it... I don't have a telly... Keen to catch up from Monday onwards. Has it been good?
  14. Nice one Mick, Welcome. Plenty of fishing options for you mate. I am looking forward to you putting up a report
  15. If you want to go to Straddie, Dunwich has some great spots too. Then Moreton is the best of all but hard to get to.
  16. +1 for the western side of the spit. Great clean water, sandy beaches and good fishing on the yabby banks and drop offs.
  17. Nice one mate. I would like to know that one. Do you have a link? I find the FG takes too long on light line so I only use it on heavier line and want an alternative to the uni to uni.
  18. We sure did eat well. all gone now. Time to go and get some catties at the port... once im out of iso...
  19. I still got it. Struggling a bit now. Bec is mostly over it but has lost her sense of taste.
  20. Ok im am in ISO with covid and saw a few news stories on the tsunami. ABC said something like - Bureau says there will be little if any impact on Australia. In other news... Channel 7 - Live coverage from Bondi Beach. OMG!!!! Get the people off Bondi NOW!
  21. I need to catch up and see if you put any on the leaderboard
