Chicken Bait

I was chatting with a pro potter the other day at Redland Bay. He advised me to use chicken fillet when fishing for Jew Fish and Snapper. He said that as the potters use chicken, the juviniles get used to the taste and actualy prefer it to mullet fillet. Does it realy work?

OK this is what I'm going to try. Gonna get a couple of whole chicken carcass and make a burley, then float some fillet strips down the trail and sink some to the bottom with a padanosta rig. Bet the first thing I get will be a stingray.
