Worms Or FRESHWATER yabbies?

Anyone know where you can buy these in the gold coast area for freshwater fishing?

You can buy both from the southport dive and tackle shop on the broadwater,just up from australia fair shopping mall.

I asked those guys on the weekend and they said they only have the saltwater yabbies (nippers I call them) and sandworms (for saltwater too). Maybe I will check with them again.

take yourself along to one of the aquarium stores along ferry road/bundall road in southport.. i think there is 'aquariums in paradise' and also the aquarium warehouse .. both used to stock red claw for food for fishies

Just check that you are allowed to use redclaw for bait (unless you catch them in the same dam / river etc) as I thought they were a pest specie and shouldn't be spread around.

Yeap, most oet shops and aquriums will sell yabbies.

A lot will sell worms as well for Axolotls and turtles etc.

excellent point werewolf has red claw aren't allowed to be 'stocked' outside their natural habitat which is Nth Qld and NT (just looked it up:D).. interesting stuff .. didnt say anything bout using for bait.. but it doesnt take a genius to figure out what'd happen if a few got away .. these guys breed like rednecks

can sometimes get worms from a nursery.

Salt water yabbies work well in fresh and you have no chance of translocating an unwanted species.

Look up worm farms in the yellow pages for worm purchases or just start a compost heap at home.
