queensland KFC Somerset 16/1/09

Went to Kilcoy Fishing Clubs ramp at Somerset this morning after picking up Feral and Dinodadog on the way.

Worried Dino for a moment when I drove past his place in the dark.

Launched around 6 and dropped in 4 redclaw pots.

Despite some very fishy looking places and structure we couldnt find anything on the sounder.

THe barometer was very low dropping from 1002 down to 996 while we were there.

We trolled, bait fished with live shrimp and cast lures and spinnerbaits to no avail.

After both Dino and myself had a couple of taps on spinnerbaits I finally caught a very pale yella.

Missus said typical grumpy old bugga too mean to smile.

Went 52 on the mat.

Released.

See ya later.

While we were trolling we saw a black swan on the bank that was in trouble with fishing line tangled around its wing and foot. We tried to get it but it swam out of reach in a shallow weed bed.

I dont think that it will survive.

Pulled the pots on the way in and nothing.

Despite the lack of fish I enjoyed the day and company.Thanks for coming Dino and Feral.

Well, I didn't get a touch at NPD, barometer is the culpirit. You should have gone yesterday :)
