Need more info Bud

What are you going to be using it on ,Line class, low profile , round style , off shore ???

But IMO DON'T buy a combo very rarely do you get a good rod and reel as a rule one or the other is crap

Line class, targeted fish , amount of line needed etc all pay a vital role in your first decision :) Reel size and type to suit your fishing needs

Then worry about a rod to suit

Anaconda have some great specials on rods and reels @ times

Best hint get your reel sorted first :woohoo:

if it's for offshore, i got a tld 15 on a live fibre 8/10 kilo rod spooled up with 30 lb mono in as new condition for sale. saw the reel at bcf yesterday for $225 alone. i'm asking for $250 for the lot. but not trying to ram this down your throat.

There are some surprisingly good entry level spinning reels on the market today, but imo the words "cheap" "quality" and "overhead" can seldom be used in the same sentence. Have to agree with Gazza on this one. Buy the best reel you can afford, then start saving for the rod. It'll take a little longer to get on the water, but the wait will be worth it.
