Hi guys, new on to this website, it's nice to have a local site just for us. I've been on iboats for a while, but they're down, and I thought I'd go mad trying to get my boating forum fix!! then I found AFO!!! I do most of my boating in the Brisbane River ( haven't caught anything yet) but also like going up or down the coast to get a bit of saltwater boating/fishing in. Will definitely post on here from now on, nothing beats local knowledge I guess!!

Hello chap! What boat do you have?

I've only tried around the gateway, there's a little inlet near the golf course, and also around the mouth of breakfast creek. Question: how many of you guys eat what you catch in the Brisbane river?

As for eating, most species are fine to eat. Sharks, Snapper, Threadfin, Flathead, Jew, Tailor etc. Though I wouldn't really want to eat fish like Luderick, Catfish and Mullet based on their diet and other feeding habits
