queensland Clontarf 5.07.2009 Bagged Out on Flathead

G'day everyone,

Hit the foreshore @ Clontarf chasing lizards. Got there around 1.15pm and fished until 3pm. Great little session. Plenty of flathead about. Heaps of "lies" around and many were a good size. A bit picky prior to the turn of the tide, but after the turn, they were hitting hard. In all caught 8 flathead, dropped around the same number, one in particular would have been a good size. Kept 5 for a curry tomorrow night. Biggest went 51cm.

Thank God for the waders. It was pretty cold in the water after a while. I am suffering with a heavy cold, so probably turn into the flu tomorrow. All worth it though.

I only fished with the 3" Gulp Shrimp today.

Awesome sesion Brett. I just back from chasing lizards with my son at Hornibrook flats. It was his choice this time and we only managed 1 small one in the 3 hours we were there.

Next time it will be my call and I think I know where I will be going

PS, my toes will take a couple of hours to defrost... not as smart as you as to have wadders!!!

Yep, the waders are now the first thing I pack. Even before the rod ;-). I am not sure why I never bought a set before. They are sliced bread.

ps. a cold cant 'turn' into the flu, they're two seperate types of virus... so consider yourself lucky to only have a cold ! ;-)

The curry turned into a chowder (long story about missing ingredients that turned ugly)and I have now posted the recipe. Sorry forgot the pictures, but next time we make it I will add.
