queensland Clontarf Flathead 12.07.2009

Hey Guys,

Managed to finish a couple of yard jobs early on Sunday and had the opportunity to sneak out for a quick session.

Arrived at Clontarf at 2.30pm, about half tide out. Water was cold, even through the waders, but I battled on until 5pm. Heaps of small flathead in the 35-40cm range. Ended up landing 9 flathead. Kept 3 for a chowder on Monday night. Biggest went 58cm. Fish were still biting well when I left, but I was doing the involuntary hand twitches of the pastics by that stage. Bloody freezin.

All fish were caught on 3" Gulp Shrimp.

Sounds like a good session there Brett. I love fishing for flathead on plastics and 45cm ones make the best feed!

Had to laugh at the involuntary flicking due to the coldness.

damn it...i left at about 1.30, finished a job in redcliffe at 10 and didnt even get a bite...
