I think it might be one of those Brisbane river Perch that they reckon are making a comeback, where was it caught?

it was caught in the logan river

Looks like it, I think Ray called them \"putty nosed perch\"

yep looks like a riner perch to me, how big was it?

it would have been about 40cm it put up a pretty good fight though

Yep \"putty nose perch\" , Up in CQ if you catch one youll get a bloody 100. Not even the cat would would eat em. :sick:

JIM , Up north where I come from, These fish are a pest in some waterways. At certain times of the year thats all you will catch(hence up to and beyond 100 per day).One week-end I brought home 25 big ones to restock crab pot bait supply, Filleted one to give to our cat and all she done was to turn up her nose and walk away in disgust.Their eating quality is very poor (soft flesh).

you are not wrong there loz we tried eating them out of the mary river and decided we'd rather eat mary river mud:sick:
