yep, check the list in the guide, the reef fish are listed seperately, come first under the tidal section on page 2.

- a few fish you catch in estuaries qualify as well, Cod being the one that catches most.

Its a stupid rule, I wonder how many fish with only one fin there are swimming around because of upgrades?

just had a look at the dpi web site under 'skin, fillet and fin removal' in the rec fishing rules section and it states you must not posses a dead coral reef fin fish unless 1 side fin is removed and the last dot point at the bottom of page is the same for spanish mackerel so upgrading is ok on reef fish if you have the tank to keep them alive

Well - not there on the list above! All Mackeral are listed under "other fish"

Wouldn't be the first time their glossy mags had a mistake in them. Wonder how you would go in court waving it in front of the judge? Probably got some small print in there somewhere like the greenzones books, where they say the provided marks are a generalisation only, and you must refer to the actual legislation..
