Went for a fish a few weeks ago with my 5 year boy. Was very suprised to catch my first Jack!! Went 44cm- not a bad fish to catch around Norman Park.

Thanks Mate. I Had a live poddy on and I got a hit and reeled it in to see the head had been bitten off. So I put it back out and got him on that!

Thanks Tugger. I forgot to mention that the jack was caught on my son's rod. I had bought him one of those alvey kids combos for Christmas and just my luck the jack struck that rod.It put up a great fight, I think the line on those reels are 6lb although I did have a 20lb leader on. My son also caught his first fish that day- a moses perch and we managed to get a few jew and a bull shark.
